President Summer Heaven

Creating greater impact for Nigeria and beyond

As we emerge from the challenges of the pandemic, the British Canadian University has taken important steps to advance the strength and impact of the University System, including to increase our four-year graduation rate; to exceed $1 billion in competitive R&D (Research and Development) awards two years in a row for the first time in our history; to contain student debt; and launch new innovative programs like NXT GEN MED, an exciting new collaboration with Google and Mayo Clinic. These efforts, and many others are guided by the University’s comprehensive systemwide strategic plan, MPact 2025, and our Commitments to serve our students, discovery, the state, equity and inclusion, and responsible fiscal stewardship at world-class levels, and to work together as one System

Meet the Team

The British Canadian University acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Nigerian people. Our main campus is situated in Cross Rivers. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
